Watch the documentary “brother outsider”, then write an essay focusing on some aspect of intersectionality in Brother Outsider, including but not limited to race, gender, sexuality, class, immigrant status.
I will send the link to the documentary after we start working. It’s an hour long but you don’t have to watch the whole thing to come up w a response. Also you can just play at times2 speed.
Make a point that expresses your idea about the topic. This could take the form of analysis or argument. Use examples from the film to support that point. You can make connections between those sources and your own life/observations.
This is not a researched paper, though you are welcome to incorporate information from other sources.
These issues of race, class, gender, and sexuality converge to make identity formation difficult. (Consider how those pieces come together in the development of the main character’s identity) or (How did Rustin’s sexuality inform, enhance, or inhibit his race activism? ).
