TWU Supply Chain Management the Transportation Problem in Excel Worksheet

The transportation problem is concerned with finding the minimum cost of transporting a single commodity from a given number of sources (e.g. factories) to a given number of destinations (e.g. warehouses). When completed, submit your Excel Spreadsheet _**results**_ into this assessment. You will not be required to submit your actual Excel file. This assignment is to be completed individually. Note that in this problem, the Demand equals Supply. There are more advanced transportation problems that deal with the situation for when demand does not equal supply (called an ‘unbalanced’ problem). In an unbalanced problem, you would have had to add a dummy source if demand > supply OR add a dummy destination if supply > demand. The video below helps to visually see the steps. I did not create this video and the sound is not good. It is a reference to help you visually follow the steps in the tutorial document (pdf file) that accompanies this assignment.
